Domestic Program
A New Arrival’s domestic program will involve the participation of at least two employees of A New Arrival. Denise Kirkpatrick represents the birthmother’s interests first and foremost. Denise conducts clinical assessments through birthmother counseling and compiles the proper reports in the adoption to ensure a clear and smooth process for all parties involved. A thorough investigation into the birthmother’s social and ethnic background is also obtained as well as what may be necessary for birthmother expenses, if any, should she choose to proceed with adoption. Denise also provides post adoption counseling to the birthmother if needed. She is available 24 hours a day for emergency services.
Lori Jones, ANA’s director, is the case worker and works directly with the adoptive family. The matching of a birthmother to prospective adoptive applicant(s) does not take place unless all Montana state laws of been followed and Ms. Kirkpatrick has deemed the birthmother a good candidate for the process.
Adoptions require flexibility because you and we, together, are working with a birthmother who has put the baby’s needs above her own and made a very difficult choice to place her baby for adoption. No two adoptions are alike and each birth mother has different expectations regarding the type of adoption she plan she would like to have. ANA will respect the rights of the birth mother and will facilitate open, semi open or a closed adoption. While we attempt to give you accurate timeframes and processes, these are sometimes changeable.
A New Arrival is also aware that prospective adoptive parent(s) also have expectations of the type of adoption they can participate in. Every effort is made to ensure the proper checks and balances are in place to match the appropriate birthmother with the appropriate adoptive family.
